HUSD – Anti-Bullying Program

Hayward Unified School District Safe and Inclusive School Program:

Creating safe, respectful and inclusive schools are an essential component for academic success. Effective intervention strategies, positive instructional content and modeling of respectful language for all our diversity is key to creating thriving school climates. This program facilitates the development and implementation of ongoing instruction and advocacy for the elimination of bullying behavior through the development of Ally identity and skills. Specific content-based professional development for educators of all grade levels is available to address the needs of all children regarding gender identity and expression, sexual orientation and family configuration as well as race, nationality, ethnicity, size, physical and cognitive ability and home language. District wide activities bring specific focus to issues and highlight positive steps and behaviors that make all our diversity visible. Student and parent workshops continue skills development so we can all support school efforts to ensure each child feels the value of themselves and their family in our school community.

For information and resources please contact Lynn Bravewomon, Coordinator, HUSD Safe and Inclusive Schools Program at lbravewomon@husd.k12.ca.us or 510-784-2600 ext 72801
